I’ll admit it, I still recall running into actor Christopher Reeves, long ago and prior to his accident, while touring the streets of New York City. A friend and I quite by accident, found ourselves on the street where a red carpet opening was occurring at the Lincoln Performing Arts Center.
Cameras were flashing while limousines dropped off celebrities at the red carpet, when I noticed Christopher Reeves walking directly in front of my line of vision. Speechless with awe, I began pulling at my friend’s sleeve in an effort to direct her attention. She missed him, she was focused behind him on the mayor exiting his limo – I believe I chose the better view.
We all have our story of a celebrity ‘sighting’. Our moment close to the limelight or the glow of the rich and famous.
I came upon a verse that spoke to me this past week about awe and boasting, see what you think…
“Let not the wise boast of their wisdom
or the strong boast of their strength
or the rich boast of their riches,
but let the one who boasts boast about this:
that they have the understanding to know me….” declares the Lord.”
An amazing boast we have as Christians – We Know God!! Not just a sighting – but a relationship with Him.
Who do you know?
I am challenged today to consider who do I most want to know? How can I best know this one better? #justathought
May it be said of me- ‘she knew the Lord’.
“Let him who boasts boast in the Lord” – I Cor. 1:31
